ADDRESS SIGNS
We make all sorts of signs here at The Carving Company! They are all custom signs. Address signs, house numbers, quarterboards, business signs, bar signs, camp signs, Hardwood Signs, welcome signs, no trespassing signs, all kinds of custom signs.... it's ENDLESS!
In this post, I'm going to focus on address signs.
We have made hundreds of address signs for our customers. We have several designs to choose from, or once in a while, a customer will strike out on their own with a new design. A lot of the time when that happens, that design will go on to sell many other signs with other customer's info. One such sign is our River house address sign.
This address sign was the first one we did with this shape and layout. About 4 years ago, a special customer came along with a sketch of an address sign they wanted. It was a simple pencil sketch of this shape with their address and house number drawn on it.
So I sat down at my computer with the rough sketch, and started playing with the shape, some fonts, and some different bits for toolpaths. Here's what the River house address sign looked like when I finished up the design in my sign design software.
Little did I know that this address sign would be just the beginning of a long line of address signs based on this shape. Since the River House Address Sign, we have had hundreds of customers approach us asking us to use the River House Address Sign shape for their Address Sign. Here's a few examples:

I'd love to take the credit for the designs you see on thecarvingcompanyonline.com , but the fact is, 99% of them start with a cool idea from a customer.
